Job Summary: Provides basic and specialty cleaning services to all areas of the hospital, focusing primarily on the operations of heavy mechanical equipment (e.g., scrubbers, buffers, polishers, extractors, wet vacuuming equipment, etc.) used in the cleaning and maintenance of hard and soft (i.e., carpet) flooring surfaces, including stairwells, hallways and public spaces, and/or provides handling, sterilizing, transporting and disposing of bio-hazard waste in accordance with city, county, state and federal regulatory requirements. Work may also include incidental performance of Environmental Svcs Tech I, job code 7008, duties. Work is performed independently and in accordance with FHS standards and procedures. Essential Duties: Operates heavy-duty industrial equipment to clean and maintain hard and soft flooring surfaces, including stairwells, hallways and public spaces. Cleans and monitors assigned equipment to ensure effective operation; identifies need for repair or replacement and notifies immediate supervisor. Wears prescribed protective gear (i.e., gloves, goggles) appropriate to assignment and observes and participates in all hospital-required Safety, Risk Management, and Infection Control practices, including hand washing/hand sanitizing protocols. Handles, transports and disposes of bio-hazard trash and waste in accordance with established procedures and regulatory requirements. Additional Responsibilities: Adheres to and exhibits our Core Values of Reverence, Integrity, Compassion and Excellence. **Qualifications** Education/Experience: Six months of experience that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities.
